La Garrotxa is a region of great beauty and rich landscapes. In its Upper part it gathers in a small space a multitude of narrow valleys endowed with great singularity.
One of them will be the object of our route: Sadernes.
A perfect excursion from spring to autumn, even on the hot summer days that will give you the odd dip in its icy pools.
We will visit different scenarios through which we appreciate a medieval bridge at the beginning of the route and the ruins of an old river mill remembering other times, other lives in the area. After a short time we arrive at a dam where we can make an acclimatized stop. The path runs through the forest and is very pleasant due to the fresh humidity of this path.
Other highlights of this route are the hermitage of Sant Aniol d’Aguja, Salt del Brull, and a viewpoint overlooking the valley just before starting the return journey.
This is, in short, a route suitable for everyone, without any marked difficulties other than the travel time, which is as variable as it is adaptable to all tastes.
The route we initially proposed is linear, reaching approximately 15 km to see the entire valley from the viewpoint.
Going back the same way there is no less attractive and it reduces its level of physical demand a degree, since there is a circular route that makes it somewhat more demanding.
So, we have an activity of about 5 to 8 hours.
